Abubakar Yaru UMAR is an academic staff in the Department of Public Administration, Faculty of Management Sciences, University of Ilorin, Nigeria. Umar has taught and supervised several undergraduate students in the Department for almost a decade. He served as Level Adviser and Staff Adviser to National Association of Public Administration Student. He has also been involved in various committees and served as the faculty of management sciences representative at various committees. His research interests include Human Resource Management, Public Service Delivery, Community Development and New Public Management.

Umar is well-published in local, national, and international publication outlets of reputable standards. He has equally attended and presented papers at several local and national conferences in Nigeria. Before joining the service of the university, Umar has worked in the  education sector, and this has given him the prerequisite exposure to practical organisational management.
